For as long as I can remember, pink has been my favorite color. All shades of pink, except like the Pepto Bismal pink.
The pink color of the liquid looks just a little too pukey to me. Does it look that way to you? Maybe it’s just me, but anyway, moving on… While my fave pink for clothes is fuchsia pink, it’s definitely blush pink I adore most for décor. If you’re one of the blogs OG followers, you’ve seen this pink displayed in a few rooms in the homes I’ve lived in…
I’ve battled with myself on whether or not there’s an age limit to pink rooms. I mean I didn’t even have a pink room when I was a little girl, or even as a pre-teen or teen. With the bathroom in the new house I went back and forth for 3 months trying to decide, to paint pink, or not paint pink. And guess what? Pink won. I gave up the internal battle, and my master bath is now unapologetically pink. It’s about as light a pink as you can get without it looking white. Here’s what I went with…
I don’t even need to mention that it’s a Behr product, cause you already know. At first I thought it was going to be much too light; that I wouldn’t even be able to see the pink color on the walls. Thank goodness I was wrong. And although the contrast doesn’t really translate in the photos, it does actually look pink on the walls, and I love how it turned out. But first…
I know, I’m the worst at capturing “before” footage, and I thought I’d get better with this house. But sadly, no, I got worse. So these are the only two “before” pictures I have of this space.
A little back story about that 10 ft. long mirror… So usually, I remove the builder grade mirrors in the bathrooms, and I’d intended to do the same with all the bathroom mirrors in this house. However… I almost seriously injured myself removing the small one from the powder room.
I’ve removed several of these mirrors, large and small, without incident. But what I’ve found, is that since removing them from my last home in 2019, they’re using a different type of adhesive, and it is a no-I’m-not-coming-off-no-matter-what-you-use type of adhesive. Thank goodness I taped the mirror up (which I never do), because it wound up shattered in several pieces. That said, I thought it best to design and decorate around this monster-sized mirror in the master. I wanted a little drama, and a bit more height, so I spray painted an extra mirror I had, and simply hung it over the vanity area. This did the trick for me as a workaround for now, but let me know in the comments section what you think, lol!
Like everywhere else in this house, I used mostly things I already had; all the fabric, towels, pictures and frames, ribbon, flowers, table, and stools. The round mirror at the vanity is from Amazon. Since the builder-grade light fixtures, faucets, and shower trim were all chrome, and I wanted it to match the hardware on the cabinets, I did switch them out for champagne bronze-colored ones: lights, faucets, shower trim and towel bar, all from Amazon.
As for the rest of the space, there’s a decent sized linen closet, and of course the privacy room… yep, nothing to see there, but it’s pink too 😊
